PhD in Legal and Social Sciences (thesis graded as Outstanding) of the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University (2004); Graduated in Law and Business Administration in the Pontifical University of Comillas (I.C.A.D.E.) Madrid (1996); granted the “Erasmus” Scholarship by the Economic European Community to attend the third year of both courses of study at the Libera Universitá Internazionale Degli Studi Sociali (L.U.I.S.S.), Rome (1993/1994). High school education at the San José del Parque School, Madrid (Marist Brothers) and elementary school education at the Champagnat School, Buenos Aires (Marist Brothers).
Experience
He has a broad experience in commercial law, corporate, international trade and M&As
and is expert in antitrust and unfair competition. He has been in charge of the compliance in four markets and of the affairs of the general secretary of the most important international listed company of Argentina. He has been in charge of the agency and distributor relationships of that company in Middle East, Europe and Latam. He carried out the first successful “squeeze-out” (delisting) of Argentina. He was in charge of the antitrust department of Bruchou, Fernández Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani. He has been involved in local and international M&As, as the acquisition of listed and privatized companies in East Europe.
He worked in Estudio O’Farrell (1998-2002) and Estudio Bruchou, Fernández Madero, Lombardi & Mitrani (2002-2005). He was partner at Hernández & García Menéndez –
Estudio de Abogados from 2005 until 2007.
He is partner at García Menéndez Attorneys at Law.
Academic Background and Publications
He wrote the first book of “Unfair Competition” in Argentina. He also wrote several
articles for scientific and journalistic publications and has coordinated special numbers of relevant scientific publications. He has given several conferences to private entities, associations and chambers.
He is invited professor of the business law pre-master at the Argentine Pontifical Catholic University; the Torcuato Di Tella University, the UCES, the Pontifical Catholic University of Rosario, the Siglo XXI University of Cordoba, Austral
University and San Andrés University.
